Great Green Macaw

This year was the 20th anniversary of the Great Green Macaw (Ara ambiguus) Program by the Centro Científico Tropical. The goal of this ongoing event is to have a better understanding of the current population of this species in the San Juan-La Selva Biological Corridor.

Jairo Jiménez and Ernesto Carman collaborated with their observations at Las Brisas Reserve. They reported seeing two Great Green Macaws at 9:30 am and then ten at 3:30 pm. This at the lower elevation portion of the reserve that is at 250 m.a.s.l.
